Every parent is looking for helpful strategies for how to manage schoolwork stress. As school has come back in session, it can start to feel overwhelming. Having homework from multiple classes each day is already stressful. Adding activities after school can make it seem impossible to keep up with everything. Here are some tips that can help you manage the stress that comes with back to school.

Get organized to help manage schoolwork stress

The best place to start is to get organized. Using some type of organizer can be useful for this. This gives you a place to put important information such as due dates and other events that may take your time. It can include work schedules, sports, clubs, or more. This is helpful because it gives you an understanding of when assignments are due so that you are not surprised.

Plan out ahead of time

Plot out due dates for your assignments. This helps you look ahead, see when everything is due and determine whether there are conflicting due dates. If there are multiple things due at one time or if there is something that would stop you from completing a certain assignment, try to get things done ahead of time. This can alleviate stress because you won’t have to handle multiple projects at the last minute.

Begin studying earlier

Instead of studying the night before an exam, try to study a little further out. This way you are not attempting to cram all of the information into your brain at the last minute. By taking the time to study earlier, you are giving your brain the chance to process the information instead of hoping the information sticks at the last minute. Try to give yourself a few days minimum, but studying two weeks out is ideal.
